Dirac’s philosophical approach, placing mathematical beauty at the heart of fundamental physics, has influenced generations of theorists and remains central to modern scientific thinking.

Graham Farmelo is a prize-winning author and historian of physics. His books include The Strangest Man, Churchill's Bomb, and The Universe Speaks in Numbers. He is a Fellow at Churchill College, Cambridge, and Affiliate Professor at Northeastern University, Boston.
